Happy Friday everyone! So, for the second installment of my new Fitness Friday series I’m going to go over my top 5 fitness hacks–just some tips that make working out daily a little bit easier. I was planning on going over my first week of the Kayla Itsines guides, but get this: first, I had emergency wisdom teeth surgery last Wednesday. Totally unexpected. Then, on Friday I went to the doctor and they told me they thought I had pneumonia! As if that wasn’t enough, I had some complications with my wisdom teeth and was told I have dry socket on Sunday (so painful!). It’s been a rough week–so no BBG for me. So, onto the main purpose of this post… 5 fitness hacks!
- Polar Watch – Unlike most fitness trackers, Polar watches are able to give you an accurate measure of the calories burned during a workout. Most fitness trackers (like a FitBit) are only able to track your steps, so they will not account for any weight lifting or any activity that’s not predominantly step-based (spinning, pilates, yoga, etc.). Like most girls, I can be a little calorie obsessed, so I seriously love my Polar Watch. It’s really rewarding to see the calories you’re burning + it will keep you motivated. Buy this!!
2. C4 Pre-Workout – Is this heathy? Probably not. Should I be recommending this? Probably not–but I’m all about honesty, and I seriously can’t work out with out this anymore. Especially after staring at a computer for 10 hours a day at work, I need some energy and coffee just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Although this may not be the healthiest option, if it gets you to the gym, it all evens out right? That’s what I like to tell myself.
3. New Workout Clothes – This might just be me, but I have much better workouts when I’m wearing cute workout clothes. I’m on the hunt for these tan Nikes (love these too), but can’t find them anywhere!! If anyone knows where I can purchase these, please let me know. I’m loving Lulu Lemon and Bandier (they have the coolest leggings EVER!!). Splurge – it’s worth it!
4. Keep Gym Bag in the Car – For those of you that know me, you know that I keep a plethora of things in my car. It’s like my second closet, really. But seriously, what if you need a pair of heels and a dress last minute? You never know and must be prepared!! I also keep a packed gym bag in my car at all times, even if I don’t have any plans to workout. It gets you into the gym more–trust me!
5. At Home Workout – For my last fitness hack, I recommend finding a workout you love and can do at home. Especially during the winter, who wants to leave house? I love the Kayla Itsines Workout because it can be done at home. It also keeps you on a strict schedule, so you feel really bad about yourself if you miss a day.
